Elba reteamed with his American Gangster director Ridley Scott for the renowned auteur's science fiction film, which has prequel ties to his seminal 1979 classic Alien. Elba played Janek, captain of the spaceship of the title. The film opened in IMAX 3D and Real D 3D in the United Kingdom on Friday, June 1 and in the United States on Friday, June 8.
